THERE ARE HOUSES

There are houses I will never live in,

Gardens I will never grow,

Dreams of glory I’ve forsaken,

Seashores I will never know,

Distant roads I’ll never travel,

Sunsets just beyond my view,

Shooting stars across a night sky,

Daybreaks of a different hue,

There are roads I’ll never travel,

Songs my heart will never sing,

So much beauty, mustn’t waste it,

Life is such a precious thing.

Mountaintops I’ll never shout from,

Spring times I’ll not see in bloom,

Empty pages, well-kept secrets…

And in some un-entered room

There’s a man whose heart is waiting…

Please God, let him find me soon!
